Long Island teen arrested after robbing woman while visiting home, shooting other visitor before taking off with cash: police

Gaven Benson, 16, of Middle Island, is facing assualt, robbery and weapons charges after robbing Amal Cummings and shooting another visitor in her home.
A teen houseguest from hell robbed a woman he was visiting on Long Island and then shot her friend, cops said.
Gaven Benson, 16, was visiting the Kings Park home of Amal Cummings when he suddenly whipped out a gun and demanded money from her and Henry Wrobel, another visitor, about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Suffolk County police said.
Cummings forked over some money but the teen shot Wrobel in the leg anyway before dashing off, according to cops.
Wrobel, 28, was rushed to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where he was treated and released, officials said.
Suffolk County cops caught up with Benson, who lives in Middle Island, in Coram Friday and arrested him without incident.
He is now facing assault, robbery and weapon possession charges. He was awaiting arraignment Saturday.
